Crisis Averted (hopefully)!

So the past few days little things have been happening to make me question my sanity.  Saturday, I went to McDonalds on the way to a friend's house and was going to grab some chocolate chip cookies for Brayden and her little boy.  I ordered a drink and the cookies, pulled up and was told the cookies would be 2 minutes and I should pull into the parking spot up ahead.  10 minutes later, no cookies.  Whatever, they were $1 and I needed to go or we'd be late.

Yesterday, while driving back to my office, I witness a car accident.  One car went to turn left at a traffic light and was hit by an oncoming car - then proceeded to smash into another car waiting at the red light!  Glad I was on the opposite side of the intersection away from the craziness.  But it still scared me a bit.

Last night, after picking up Brayden and running an errand we went home and I started dinner.  I went outside to put steaks on the grill and noticed my tire was flat as a pancake!  Luckily we were home and luckily Erin was home to change the tire to the spare.  So today, carefully as I could, I drove with the mini-tire to the closest mechanic's shop and forked over $30 for a tire patch.

So hopefully that is the last of the mishaps for awhile, because I dont want anything more major occuring right now.

Perfect

Today was virtually a perfect day.  I spent the day with the loves of my life and the weather could not have been better!  I think today was the first day in probably 2 months that the a/c wasn't running, the windows were open, my new maple pancake Yankee Candle filled the fresh air and we didn't have any where to rush off to.  Brayden and I spent a good part of the day in our pajamas, in fact!  Did I mention before that I love fall?  In all seriousness, the past few days have been very fall like in weather and it's put me in the best mood!

I'm on day 5 of the Insanity workouts, and I swear I'm already more firm.  Erin tells me its not possible to be that effective, but I know for a fact my gut looks smaller than it did Monday.  I wont back down from that argument.  :)

My First Post!

Alright, well this is my first official post here in blog world!  Welcome to Sugar, Spice and Everything's Nice...the chronicle's of our family life.  I'll try to do pretty regular updates and post pics as often as I can to keep you all entertained.

A little bit about us...I'm a working mom with a beautiful little boy, Brayden, a handsome cop husband, Erin, and a wonderful stepdaughter, Maddy.  We have 2 dogs, Tank and Coco, that we love dearly and that also drive us insane!  We live in Upstate NY where we absolutely love the fall weather (and I cant wait for it to get here!)

In addition to my full-time job, I've started a Mary Kay business that I'm hoping to make a full-time job in the next year or so.  Right now I'm running a promotion called U+2=50.  What the heck is that, you ask?  Basically, when you hostess a party for me and have at least 2 friends attend, you get $50 in FREE product!  Awesome, right!  Let me know if you want to sign up!  ;)

The smile that makes my day...
